Why we built Oreo
Oreo is named after a dog. Oreo was a rescue who lived with Nousheen for 16.5 years and passed away on 12/07. He is the dog on our logo, and we named the software after him so that every dog and cat in an Oreo-powered home is looked after with the same devotion he got every day.
The idea began with Sherif's sister, Suhana, who boards dogs from her home in India. She loved the work, but her evenings disappeared into WhatsApp messages, vaccination booklets, feeding notes, and stay calculations. The kennel software we could find cost ₹10,000 a month or more and was built for commercial kennels, not for someone's home. So we built Oreo for her, and then for every home boarder like her.
Our company, BBA Consulting Services, is named for Bindi, Bailey, and Angela: Sherif's two Shelties, Bindi and Bailey, and his wife and co-founder, Angela. We want to build dependable, thoughtfully designed software for ordinary people at a fair price, and to look after the animals who make our lives whole.
How Artificial Intelligence Helped Shape Oreo
We use AI in two quiet, practical ways. Inside Oreo, it reads through every dog and cat checked in at your home each morning and highlights what needs attention: a food allergy, a cat who must be kept apart, or a dog frightened of fireworks. You can also ask Oreo a question out loud in Hindi or English and get an answer straight from your own records.
Behind Oreo, AI helped a small team build and test the software carefully and efficiently. That is how we keep plans starting at ₹499 a month instead of the ₹10,000 or more that commercial kennel software usually costs.
"Whether you board two dogs in an apartment or twelve dogs and cats in a villa, you are doing sacred work. We priced Oreo from ₹499 a month so cost is never a barrier, and when you join the PACT, you work directly with the two of us." — Sherif and Nousheen
A portion of our proceeds goes to hands-on animal welfare and rescue care in India, including the rescues who live with us, Hulk and Milli.
